Here is our guide to applying false eyelashes to achieve the perfect look.
Please note this guide is the way we have found easiest and most effective to apply false lashes. Its by no means the definitive or only way to apply them. We hope it helps though!
Things You Will Need
-
Your individual false eyelashes
-
A clean surface to work on and lay your lashes on
-
Tweezers
-
Mirror
-
Eyelash Curler
-
Quality eyelash glue (please see our listings for top brands, try to avoid the 1ml and 2ml glue tubs that often come free with lashes, they are generally of very poor quality. It really is worth spending a little extra for good quality glue - false eyelashes are no good if they keep falling off after all!!)
How to Apply
-
Confidence is the key
-
Make sure to evenly coat your eyelashes with the Eyelash Glue for better results as clumping can cause issues
-
To make a more dramatic effect apply eyeliner first on the upper lash line
-
Grab your lash, then grab fake lash with tweezers
-
Apply to area with adhesive or dip eyelash in adhesive
-
Place Semi-Permanent eyelash by starting in the corner and putting it as close to roots as possible.
-
If you ensure that lashes are towards the outer corners you will get a much more younger look
-
Let the glue set and lashes dry
-
Curl your lashes
Curling Tips
Always start with a clean surface. Although you are not cooking a meal you want to make sure the surface of your eyes are very clean and mascara free. The reason for this is that dirt and makeup will make your lashes hard and then it will snap them. So before you get ready to curl your false eyelash extensions be sure to clean them thoroughly.
-
Place curler as close to the base of your eyelashes as you can possibly get
-
Squeeze with just the right amount of pressure so as not to bend the lash and then hold that for five to ten seconds
Now that you have your new eyelash extension and you have them properly curled you can head out on the town or wherever takes your fancy. And remember that although they may not seem that easy to apply at first, with a little practice you will soon be doing it with your eyes shut ;)
Enjoy your new lashes.
How to remove fake eyelashes
1. Never remove them by tugging. Chances are, you might pull off some of your real lashes as well, and this can become very tragic! Go gentle on your fake eyelashes and handle them as though they could be real.
2. Start by dabbing fake eyelash remover on your lash line with a cotton swab. You can gently tap the swab at the base in order to loosen out the eyelash glue. Start applying from the outer edge inwards. You may use some eye makeup remover as an alternative. It would also be good to let it soak for a few seconds in order to soften the adhesive glue. (Do not leave it out too long as it will dry out eventually.)
3. After making sure that it has fully softened, take one corner of the lash band (for full fake eyelashes) and gently pull off the eye lashes. For individual fake eye lashes, it is best to use a good pair of tweezers for more precision when pulling.
4. Remove all possible traces of eyelash glue by dabbing some more eyelash remover. Finally, cleanse your eyes and the rest of your makeup with a good make up remover.
Alternatives for Removing Fake Eye Lashes
Some people find using soap and water to loosen adhesive glue as effective as eyelash removers. Some also soak the area with olive oil or virgin coconut oil to achieve the same glue loosening effect.
Tips for Cleaning and Storing
You can actually reuse your fake eye lashes provided that you maintain them and keep them clean at all times. After removing them carefully, soak them in a tiny amount of warm, soapy water to remove the glue, dust particles, as well as false eyelash mascara that you possibly applied. Use tweezers to pull off glue particles. You can also soak them in your eyelash remover solution instead of soapy water. You can use a moustache brush or some other gentle brush for cleaning between those lashes. Afterwards, dry them and store them back in their original container.
